Wood Turning TIA Member Sandstone Manor Originals RR 1 Seeley’s Bay 205 Ellisville Road, On tario K0H 2N0 613-387-3165 Website Send email “Without craftsmanship, inspiration is a mere reed shaken in the wind.” Johannes Brahma Sandstone Manor Originals creator, Doug Mainse, has been working with wood and stone for over 30 years. Doug is a retired school teacher with an educational background in Industrial Arts and Technology. A passion for working with wood led Doug to develop a mechanism for turning large blocks of wood on his lathe using native Eastern Ontario wood species, including trees damaged in the Ice Storm of ’98. Doug fashions bowls and vases from small to exceptionally large, each unique and distinctive, revealing natures art to the eye of the beholder. His one of a kind large wooden bowls, vases and cement flower pots are perfect for homes, cottages, and businesses. They also make perfect gifts! Some of Doug’s work is on display at the Arthur Child Heritage Museum-Canadiana Gift Shop in Gananoque, Eastern Ontario. |
