Forming a piece on a potters wheel or by hand. Firing in a kiln to produce porous Bisque Ware. Applying glaze which is a mixture of chemicals formulated to fire at a particular temperature. Firing the piece to a temperature which will mature the clay and melt the glaze to a glass like surface. I make mostly functional wheel thrown pots. I enjoy making different forms and experimenting with glazes to produce different colour combinations and effects. Making pots is fun and satisfying. |
