He was born in Toronto, and he spent his summers at the cottage in the Halliburton Highlands. Hence, the water, the rocks, the breezes and the smell of pines are all part of him. Larry spent his winters in Toronto, and from this experience he developed an urban perspective, particularly from an architectural point of view. The stone texture of the buildings, the glass, and the light reflections parallel natural views found in nature. The struggle between urban and nature influences Larry’s perspective in photography. His current work reduces and simplifies what he sees in the world into simpler contrasting shapes and tones. |
